President Donald Trump was mocked online after accidentally reading aloud a private note from Secretary of State Marco Rubio during a live broadcast with oil company executives at the White House.

It is not the first time Donald Trump has shared private information with the public.
In October 2025, the Republican read out loud to everyone in the room a note that Rubio had handed him about an agreement with Gaza.
More recently, while speaking with oil company executives, the president announced: “Marco just gave me a note: ‘Go back to Chevron.’ They want to discuss something.”
“Go ahead, I’m going back to Chevron. Thank you, Marco,” Trump said, referring to an executive from Chevron Corporation, an oil and gas company.

Marco Rubio made a disappointed expression after Trump read the note out loud.
Social media users complained about the president’s conduct. “25th Amendment now,” wrote one profile, referring to the part of the U.S. Constitution that can cause a president to lose office if he is no longer considered fit.
Another account recalled when George W. Bush received the discreet message that they had hit the second tower in the September 11 attacks.
“Trump would certainly have said something like: ‘They just hit the second tower, kids, they just hit the second tower,’” he wrote.
